Reviews for Sicilian Sidewalk Cafe
Review highlights
Based on 675 reviewsPublic reviews of Sicilian Sidewalk Cafe highlight its strong reputation for authentic Italian desserts, particularly their gelato and customizable waffles. Customers frequently praise the rich, traditional flavors and the generous portions, with several noting standout items like tiramisu and tartufo ice cream. The cafe’s laidback atmosphere and friendly staff contribute positively to the overall experience. However, some feedback points to occasional inconsistencies in gelato quality, with certain flavors perceived as artificial or lacking expected ingredients. Despite this, the cafe remains a popular spot for both locals and visitors seeking genuine Sicilian treats, backed by mentions of prestigious awards and recognition in the community.
Came here during the rush of Taste of Italy and was craving for Italian food given the lack of at the event. Ordered the aracini and the pistachio gelato and the aracini was crispy and packed with tomato sauce - yum. The gelato however, was a huge disappointment. The flavour tasted very artificial and lacked pistachios. The moment I saw the colour (light green) of the gelato, I knew it was going to taste bad. I would avoid at all cost. It was very busy on a Saturday but our waitress only served three tables and she moved at a snail’s pace. She was never aware of her surroundings and it took her 20 minutes to take our order and another 10 minutes ti give us our bills. All in the meanwhile she was chitchatting with her colleagues. Tall, slim figure with a very long ponytail - didn’t catch her name but she was not good at serving at all.
Really loved their Tartufo! Can’t wait to go back and try different menu items.
Sicilian Sidewalk Cafe truly nails the dessert game! The customisable waffles were an absolute highlight—pairing vanilla and tiramisu ice cream was the perfect combination. The tiramisu ice cream had this delicate yet powerful flavor that instantly won us over. My friend loved it so much, they’re planning another trip from Hamilton just for more! The atmosphere was laid-back and enjoyable, though a cozy booth or couch section would take it to the next level - highly suggest that for the cafe. Overall, it’s a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth looking for quality desserts in a welcoming setting!
